Imperative sentence is a sentence that contains an order so that the object does something requested by the subject. Usually, imperative sentences aren’t started with a subject because obviously the subject of the imperative sentence is the person who says it himself. Therefore, they usually starts directly with a verb.

I.Decide if the imperative is used in the extracts below to give instructions (i), advice / reminders (a / r), orders / requests (o / r) or warnings (w).

Example:

Recipe for Hummus
